The Asian Side II: Kadıköy and Moda

 

(open to everyone, photographers and not) 

Starting off in Kadikoy in the morning before the crowds with a visit to a historical sweet shop, a small Armenian chapel, and the the colorful fish market we pass through the antiques street, (the Asian version of Cukurcuma), and continuing on through the sleepy bar street with some nice examples of traditional wooden houses. On to Moda, an older upmarket quarter once known for it's elite Sea Club and women's beach, we visit the neighborhoods Anglican and French churches and other interesting landmarks, new trendy shops etc. Lunch s in the pastry/restaurant Naan, ending with a tea under the wonderful Mastic trees, overlooking the Marmara sea,
