Grand Hotels, Shacks and Cemeteries.

​Meeting up in Pera, we visit some of the grand old hotels of the Orient Express then walk down  through the run-down Kasimpasa once a very important port, home to the Ottoman fleet. Before hopping onto a ferry we will break for lunch in a soup restaurant and then on to the conservative neighborhood of Eyup, home of the sacred Eyup Sultan Mosque with it's exquisite 15th cent. tiles, showing us a significant change in atmosphere and an expansive cemetery overlooking the inlet. An optional stop for tea/coffee at the Pier Loti cafe in the cemetery itself.
